What We Believe
At Istrouma, we stand firm in our beliefs and founding principles. We believe that God’s Word, the Bible, is inerrant — it's a sufficient guide for all issues of belief and behavior. A summary of our essential convictions based upon God’s Word can be found in the Baptist Faith and Message (2000).
Our Purpose
Our mission at Istrouma is simple — we glorify God by making disciples of all nations. Let's break down our purpose, piece by piece:
Glorifying God
When we worship God, we glorify Him through our expression of love and devotion. What an honor it is to humbly come before the Creator of the Universe! All of us are wired for worship, and the only way we can express true love to God and worship Him is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. At Istrouma, we worship with all of our life, and we work hard to provide an exciting and God-honoring environment for worship through our Sunday morning worship services.
Making Disciples
Our church also exists to help you grow in spiritual maturity with other believers. Istrouma's goal is to help each other become followers, true disciples, of Christ. Because the Christian life is one of constant growth and development, we are focused on teaching biblical principles in our small groups.
All Nations
Another key purpose of Istrouma is to reach people who are outside the family of God. Every day, we rub shoulders with people who are just an invitation away from a life-changing encounter with Christ. We reach all nations by serving, being involved in missions, and inviting others to hear and understand what it means to be a follower of Christ.
